Here is a summary of each project, depending on the Voucher type: Development and technology transfer projects (already finished) and Prototyping and Large-scale demonstrator projects (on-going)

Development and technology transfer projects

PORTNET

Brief description

PORTNET is a blockchain platform to improve ports waste management and enhance its traceability by creating “Wastepassport” which will cover the whole waste journey from shipowner to treatment plant and recording all data into the blockchain by assigning a NFT to each waste batch identifying the unique features of each disposal.

It was led by the Spanish Blue Room Innovation under the Smart Port domain.

Aims of the project

It is aim to convert WASTE TO VALUE through the token CIRCULA (CIL) by creating a secondary market, fostering circular ecosystems. The solution has been tested in Balearic Islands Port Authority Facilities.

Outcomes

PORTNET will be offered as a Blockchain-as-a-service (BaaS) solution including the platform and services where no ad hoc implementations for clients will be required, hence increasing efficiency in the integrations on the clients’ software.

SMATCON

Brief description

SMATCON was a project with a duration of 6 months lead by the Greek Terra Spatium SA under the Smart Ship domain.

Aims of the project

SMATCON aimed to face the problem of logistic losses and complications in maritime sector. As technology advances with introduction of 5G and 6G network, IoT and Satellite Communication, new solutions are explored. The idea revolves around the use of these technologies aiming to answer sector’s needs and requirements. The design and the development of a system that incorporates the data from smart containers, from the moment they are prepared for shipment to the time of their unloaded to the port of their destination.
